A few more good pictures

I am definitely on a roll now with updating the blog. The pictures I just had to add today: (1) I wasn't trying to trump Barry's "smiling baby" picture below, but it just happened that way. Ha, ha, ha! (2) Gabe eating his favorite breakfast of champions - Captain Crunch. We are looking into whether there's a faster way to get all that sugar into his bloodstream. (3) Not too sure about her bouncy seat yet. It didn't help that Brother was bopping the toys right in her face and turning the music off and on repeatedly.

Family from SC

Gabe, Pam, Audrey, and Grammy

We had a special visitor this week: Aunt Pam, Grammy's sister from SC. We had not seen her since last fall, so we were glad to see her and introduce her to Audrey also. Luckily, Gabe was mostly on his best behavior; Audrey welcomed her by spitting up on her nice silk shirt and leaving a huge wet spot (in Kentucky, spitting is a form of affection). She then repeated this on Grammy's shirt, as you can see in the photos. No wonder we don't have more visitors. Uncle Ron, if you are reading this, wait until you see what Audrey has in store when she meets you!

What Gabe's been up to (part 2)

Gabe putts with his driver.
Masters gear.

Gabe the golfer. He went with Papaw and Daddy to the golf course yesterday. He was very proud of his official Masters polo shirt and shorts, which they got him from the Masters practice round. We packed him a little snack and drink in a cooler and he brought his driver and bright yellow golf ball. Gabe's story about his day was: he said he made some "big shots", "played in the sand a little", "hit balls into the water", and finally, "where we pay we asked for Sprite and the man said he didn't have any." That sounds just like the stories all the professional golfers tell at the end of a round!

What Audrey's been up to...

Getting bigger and advancing to 3-6 month clothes.
Wearing one of the headbands Grammy gave her.
Confident enough to wear a dress with a whale on it while showing chubby legs.
Why does Daddy say I'm going to be prissy?
I have to give credit to Barry for catching this smile.

As she's only 8 weeks old tomorrow, her activities are not really that interesting yet: eat, sleep, dirty diapers, take baths, smile and babble a little, and repeat. However, there are still plenty of cute pictures, and this is only a small sampling of what we've taken of her.

What Gabe's been up to lately (part one)...

Roller-skating in the cutest tiny little skates.
Freeze, or you'll get bubbles in the face.
I'm pretty sure this was just a coincidence that she smiled here...
...because this is her usual face while being held by Gabe. Gabe's happy though.
Eating tacos for the first time.

Since I last updated our blog, Gabe's gotten to do a lot of cool things (continued in another post). First, he tried roller skating. This was a HUGE surprise, because he is not exactly a daredevil and is very shy about trying new things. He did better than his mom, who is still feeling the effects of her attempt at rollerskating, if you know what I mean. Let's just say almost 30-year-olds shouldn't skate without wearing some kind of protective gear. On the same day, Charlie and Lauren Duckworth came to see us, and Gabe actually didn't freak out that Charlie was touching his toys. He wasn't exactly friendly to him, but after he left, Gabe said he was a "nice little boy" and "careful with the toys", so that pretty much means he's invited back. Also, he ate and LOVED tacos, which is funny because he only started eating ground beef recently.
